Blue is an important ink colour. It is favoured for the signing of significant documents, coronation oaths being a notable recent example. The reason being that digital copies, prints and faxes tend to be black. See the blue signature and you know which is the original. Shin Kai is one of the 24 colours of the Pilot Iroshizuku ink range. In Japanese, Shin Kai means deep sea. Iro is colouring and Shizuku means droplet.
