“Everyone needs some drama in their life…”
Kevin MacDonald
I have recently been reading David Black’s compelling series of novels about a junior naval officer operating British submarines at the outbreak of WW2. They are a great read and highlight the often rudimentary nature of UK submarines prior to 1939. All of this lead to this model. It is a British K class submarine. Produced between the wars, these vessels were massive. Stealth was never a consideration. Essentially these are submersible battleships, including their impractical and dangerous dual steam engines. Diving times were close to 30 minutes. They had had a terrible record. Many were loss during basic training exercises, and they were abandoned as a project before seeing any real naval action. #kalamityclass #letsmakelemonade
