The German pen company Pelikan seems pretty conservative. They do however have a few cool marketing strategies. Like many fountain pen manufacturers, they produce their own range of inks. Each year there is a special limited edition. As you can see Rose Quartz is the 2023 colour. None of this is unique as limited pens and inks are everywhere. In Pelikan’s case, it chooses to launch the new inks using hubs. On a specific day at the end of September each year, Pelikan coordinates a series of parties, known as hubs. These occur in 220 cities and 47 countries across the world. Pen addicts that attend receive a bottle of the new ink as a gift. Things, including the internet, just explode from there. For the record Rose Quartz is too pale and dry for my taste, but that won’t stop it selling out in a few weeks. #pencraftadelaide #letsmakelemonade
