A blue chequered Czech

“The airplane stays up because it doesn’t have time to fall…”

So I also paint model aircraft. This has become a booming hobby post pandemic. Most of them are basic silver, but this blue paint design caught my eye and I had to give it a try. It is a1954 MIG-15, the 1303. It was deployed for anti-aircraft artillery training by the Czech military. The chequer board pattern is designed to increase visibility rather than camouflage. Sadly this plane also has a chequered history. In February 1964 this MIG was involved in a three plane mid air collision over Sezemice. Captain Jurecka in the 1303 ejected to safety, but the other pilots were not as lucky. #checkouttheblue #letsmakelemonade
