That is a shame as the current value of the franchise, owned by Hasbro, is $40 million. Playing Operation is very simple. It is a variant on an old fashioned electric wire loop fair attraction. The patient is actually known as Cavity Sam. Very few changes have occurred over 60 years. Specifically, the electro probe was renamed as tweezers and in 2004 a new piece was added to the head. This was an additional plastic ice cream cone named the brain freeze.
