“Art, unlike life, permits do-overs…”
Kahn Man
Not everything goes to plan. Sometimes the things we do, say or write are not quite what we wanted to achieve. It can be irksome, frustrating and distracting. Others might not notice or be concerned, but we are. In 1930 Henri Matisse received his largest ever commission from American art collector Albert Barnes. A centrepiece mural for the new Barnes Foundation Gallery. For three years Matisse worked almost exclusively on La Danse. Finally the work was installed into the architectural space designed specifically for it. Barnes loved it, Matisse didn’t. So he did it again. #whichiswhich? #letsmakelemonade
