Magnificent art, but it is not perfect

“Art is not made for anyone, but it is for everyone…”

Piet Mondrian

I have always enjoyed abstract art. Mondrian and Rothko have been favourites. A decade or more ago, I began to explore my artistic side producing copies of these artists. I had no skill, but embarked on projects with cheap canvasses, acrylic paint and masking tape. I was always disappointed that I had to resort to tape for the lines and the paint panel finishes were far from perfection. My family were supportive, but agreed. Recently in Spain, I had the wonderful treat of seeing in person multiple works by these artists. They were amazing. However, there was still masking tape on a Mondrian and his panels showed clear brush marks, The Rothkos were covered with drips of spilled paint and debris. I may have been a bit hard on myself. #thyssengallery #letsmakelemonade
