The history of terrazzo can be traced back to the mosaics of ancient Egypt. The name and it’s modern use as a floor surface appeared in 18th century Italy. The original technique of Pavimento alla Venziana involved tossing marble chips into mortar, then finely polishing the surface by hand. Terrazzo exploded in popularity in the 1920s, largely due to it becoming the flooring option of choice for the Art Deco movement. The pen we see here is a late 2023 release by the German pen company, Kaweco. This pen has had a big impact. Kaweco has produced the pocket pen line, the Sport for more than 50 years. The issue was that these were small, durable, functional and boring. The available colours were green, black, red and white. The new Terrazzo Sport is sharp and eye catching. It has reinvigorated interest in this brand and model. #anotherpocketpen #letsmakelemonade
