Onwards and upwards

“One can walk over the highest mountain one step at a time…”

Barbara Walters

The rural Victorian Town of Dunkeld is overshadowed by nearby Mt Sturgeon. Also known by the Indigenious name of Wurgarri, this peak rises abruptly from the surrounding farmlands to an elevation of 582 metres. Recently, Melissa and I were part of guided team that made a successful ascent of Mt Sturgeon. For me it was quite an emotional as well as physical achievement. Four and a half years ago as I lay in a hospital bed with a white cell count of 250,00, I fretted for what the future held for me. Walking up something with the word mountain in it’s name was not on the radar. Currently my thoughts are filled with gratitude and thanks for those people who have supported and helped me. My RAH CML team, Tim, Naranie and Mary. My ever present and empathetic GPs, Peter and Bridgette. My specialist fine tuners, Srini, Andrew and Richard. My fitness and life coaches, Scott and Georgia. My supportive colleagues, Christine and Leong. My fixers/chefs/guides for this hiking, Jacqui and Mick. Finally, by my side through all the good, the bad and the ugly, my family, Melissa, Ellen and Trina. #climbeverymountain #letsmakelemonade
