So 500 times I have written a clever title, edited a photo, searched Google for a quote, and struggled to control the word count of the text . Finally. I have concocted a fake hashtag and then tried to schedule the release date, hoping that I don’t accidentally publish the post as I sign off on the final edit. Penpaintandscalpel started in late 2019. My world had been turned upside and the future was unclear. I was lost, wondering what was next, reflecting on what was really important to me and desperate to stay in touch with all the people around me. This blog was my signal, repeated regularly, again and again. It became my lighthouse. I write these posts primarily for me, but the people who read them have become a welcome key part of the endeavour as well. Finding topics, chasing ideas, researching facts, and ultimately the discipline of a writing schedule, has given a thirst to my attention as I go through each day. I plan to continue.
