So something new for the blog, a photo and a suggestion for a post. I am super proud of my daughters. My eldest Ellen, is currently working as a speechie at St Thomas’s in London. The London CBD is cool place to work, and St Thomas’s overflowing with history. both medical and nursing. Florence Nightingale, I am looking at you. The hospital was founded in the 1100s in Southwark, moving to its current Lambeth location 1871. This statue of Queen Victoria resides inside the entrance. It was donated by the Worshipful Company of Mercers to mark the 60th year of her reign. The Mercers are the premier livery company of the City of London. Mercer has the same origin as merchant. Essentially they are a charity, focussing on schools, education, health and welfare for the population.
