“I have learnt sketching, drawing, singing, dancing, rifle shooting and paragliding…”
Divyanka Tripathi
So last month I took on a self nominated challenge. I would create and post a daily sketch in Adelaide Urban Sketchers throughout July. This turned out to be a poor choice for several reasons. Firstly, July has 31 days, so the full 31 sketches were required. Second, it was grey and cold for most days of the month. Many were pencil drawings on location, painted and fussed with later in the warmth and safety of home. Thirdly, it was hard to avoid endless cafe scenes and buildings of dubious architectural merit. On the plus side, the exercise made me very aware of my daily surrounds. I also developed a discipline of daily sketching, even when I really didn’t feel in the mood. Finally, I did develop and refine my sketching style small, simple, bright colours and clear shapes. The best part was the support of friends – both sketchers and beyond. #winterinadelaide #letsmakelemonade
Well done David. It certainly takes commitment.
