The hunt is satisfying in itself, but despite my enthusiasm it is not common to find something that makes a real difference. Let me introduce the Sailor Fude nib. This classic Japanese nib is bent up at 45 degrees. It can be fitted to a variety of pen bodies, so it can be budget or statement pen. The Fude nib is the star, allowing fine precise lines right through to broad brushstrokes. This gives a range of character to a simple, quick sketch. You can get a lot of ink on the page quickly, abolishing the inertia of the blank piece of paper. The timid Urban Sketcher is suddenly emboldened. #mynewfavourite #letsmakelemonade
