Pope Francis

The recent death of Pope Francis has triggered into action a number of traditions. One ancient tradition is to place a Rogito or Deed summarising the Pope’s life inside his coffin. This document is prepared, signed and sealed into the coffin by the Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, Cardinal Kevin Farrell. A more modern tradition is for the fountain pen community to identify the pen used by the Camerlengo to sign the Rogito. The consensus is that what we see here is the LAMY Joy. This a specific calligraphic desk pen, it is too large in the barrel to go into a pocket or bag. This pen comes in two colour ways, all black, and black with red accents. The all black model is likely the correct model, but the Cardinal’s robe could be creating an element of camouflage. #autilitariamchoice #letsmakelemonade
