The crying room

“The future starts today, not tomorrow…”

Pope John Paul II

You shouldn’t take a photo in the Sistine Chapel, but this unimposing door is a few feet from the entrance. These doors don’t open very often, but they did have a moment a couple of weeks ago. This is the entrance to the Room of Tears. This is the room that a newly elected pope is taken to at the completion of a conclave. Here he can pray privately, select his style of Papal robes and most importantly, choose his Papal name. Tears are said to come as he considers his fate. His life has changed forever, as has history. #virtuallyhidden #letsmakelemonade
