Dubrovnik is an amazing city. The old town is a true jewel, jutting into an unbelievably blue Adriatic Sea. Visiting on the first Sunday of summer was confronting. The city was under siege from unwitting tourists, lead by their tyrannical guides. Fortunately, not all the good places were on their itineraries.The Dubrovnik Museum for Contemporary Art is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025. It is an island of calm, silence, dignity and abstract 20th century art. Over the years the spaces have hosted exhibitions from the likes of Warhol, Miro and Giacometti, but real focus is on abstract Balkan artists. The architecture, terraces, staircases and bathrooms are all of merit. There is even a resident pet snake. #viperandabsraction #letsmakelemonade
