Anniversaries are a tricky minefield for men. Don’t forget it, but don’t overplay it (especially if your wife has forgotten it). Melissa and I celebrated our 34th Wedding Anniversary earlier this week, so I turned to AI for help. Siri told me the traditional gemstone to buy for this occasion was amber (hope, purity and truth), but the more modern option was opal (warmth, protection and beauty). I was a bit stuck, Melissa dislikes opals and amber is pretty hard to source. Siri suggested that the best alternative to jewellery for this celebration should be the gift of a pair of polarised sunglasses with opal tinted lenses. A gift that we could both treasure and enjoy going forward through the years was also offered, specifically an individually engraved wineglass.
