An art style often has a formal definition, perhaps even a time period. Visual elements are defined and usually there are insights into the artists’s creative process. The serious styles will have rules, politics and a manifesto. I very want to talk about the simpler issue of an artist’s personal style. This is like handwriting, a signature or a voice. It is how we see a work and can have decent guess at who the artist is. I have longed for such a style in my painting., and perhaps I have found something.
