Testing times

“One day cricket is an exhibition, test match cricket is am examination…”

Henry Blofeld

Test match number 17 was the first ever played at Adelaide Oval, back in December 1884. On that occasion England defeated Australia by 8 wickets. Since then 81 test matches have been held in South Australia, all at the iconic Adelaide Oval. England have featured in 31 of these games. In Adelaide there have 21 victories for Australia, 7 for England and only 3 draws. There has never been a tie. Interestingly, England has the upper hand for highest innings totals (England 620 in 1983 vs Australia 582 in 1921, and in the lowest innings scores (England 124 in 1895 and Australia 100 in 1892). Let’s see what happens today. #Aobazball #letsmakelemonade
