A different vibe

“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea…”

Karen Blixen

This summer the beaches of South Australia have been strangely different. Algal bloom looms over them. You can track the impact the bloom and the associated brevetoxins on websites, Apps and Facebook groups. The situation seems to change almost hourly, but the confusion is constant. The offical mantra is that our beaches are safe, unless they are not. The Christmas and New year period at Aldinga has been noticeably affected, markedly fewer people, cars and dogs are on the beach. One specific change has been the absence of Jet Skis in the local bays, usually an annoying auditory accompaniment of this season at Tarniwarra. #confusionreigns #letsmakelemonade
