B.E.A.C.H.: Best Escape Anyone Can Have
The mouth of the Myponga River opens into a small inlet called Coweelunga Bay. There is a small settlement there, mostly holiday houses, although the resident population was 33 at the last census. This region is referred to locally as Myponga Beach. It is virtually unique in South Australia as a north facing beachfront. In reality it would be more accurate to describe this location as Myponga Bay. Myponga Beach is gazetted as the coast between Snapper Point in Aldinga in the North, down to Carrickalinga Point in the South.
