St Jude Childrens Research Hospital is based in Memphis, Tennessee. It is a major treatment and research centre for paediatric cancers, particularly leukaemia. St Jude is remarkable for a US facility, as it is free for all patients. Treatment and accomodation is provided cost free for all families that need their help. Each September the hospital has a major fund raising campaign to cover it’s considerable costs. Fountain pen aficionados, better known as nerds, are often portrayed as introverted and bordering on the spectrum, They are also quite altruistic. The Penaddict podcast raises funds each year for St Jude. The last few years the money contributed has exceeded a million dollars. Not bad for podcast about pens, with a pretty specific and limited audience. #charitybeginsathome #letsmakelemonade
