Edvard Munch
This is the The Scream by Norwegian artist Edward Munch. There are a couple of versions with different colourings, but this is the most famous, housed in the Munch museum, Oslo. As a reproduced painting it is second only to Leonardo’s Mona Lisa. The internet era has had major influence on this image. It has come to represent pain, horror, mental illness and is wonderful background for a meme. La Giaconda and The Scream have quite a lot in common. Both are not painted on traditional canvas, but rather wood and cardboard. Both have been stolen twice and unlike 98% of robbed art, safely recovered. #emotioninpaint #letsmakelemonade
