“Either you step into the future, or you become a dinosaur…”

2024 in Chinese culture is the year of the dragon. It is considered the most auspicious and lucky animal of the Chinese Shengxiao. Remarkably, 2024 has just seen the discovery of an actual dragon. Well, a dragon fossil at least. Last week saw the announcement that a complete fossil skeleton of the new species, dinocephalosauras orientalis, had been found in Southern China. It is being referred to as the dragon dinosaur. It is a giant marine reptile, with a massive snake like neck. Technically, it is not really a dinosaur as it is hardly a land based thunder lizard. It also dates from the earlier Triassic era, rather than the Jurassic. #lookforthefishfossilsinthebelly #letsmakelemonade
