This watch is 25 jewell Normana. Normana was a mid 20th century Swiss watch manufacturer. For this brand it was quite a fancy model. 17 jewels was far more common. It also has an automatic movement and an Incabloc shock protection system. The Incabloc system was developed in 1934 by Swiss watchmaker Georges Braunschweig. This was one of the first watches to incorporate the innovation, essentially using an extra spring to isolate or cushion the entire movement. This watch was an 18th Birthday present for my father. By the time I became aware of it, it sat on my father’s desk, no longer functional. Automatic watches need servicing. After Dad’s passing it also sat in my desk drawer. Last year we suffered a burglary. Our home was ransacked and picked over. This watch was considered old and of no value, so it was just tossed on the floor.
