“Every shard of glass carries within it a piece of its creator’s soul…”
Marina Fiorato
On November 8th 1291 a law passed that confined glass making in Venice to a cluster of islands in the lagoon referred to as Murano. The industry used furnaces that were a fire hazard on the densely inhabited Venetian mainland. To ensure compliance and perhaps to protect commercial secrecy, glassblowers were confined to Murano on pain of death. Not so the rich. Murano in the 1200s was a summer resort for the nobles and aristocrats of Venice. The high society influencers of Venice collected the glass they found in Murano as symbols of their upmarket lifestyle. The glass became highly valued and sought after by would be social climbers. This pen is the Venice model by Hello Tello. It is a pen for 21st century influencers as it has a beautiful slice of Murano glass embedded in the cap. #muchmoreonthispentocome #letsmakelemonade
