Last Saturday night was the annual SAHMRI Bright Walk. Melissa, Trina and I joined 1343 other brave souls on an 11 kilometre walk through Adelaide. Along the way we encountered snack stops, drink stations, live music, fire dancing, cheering families, the National Wine Centre, the highlights of Illuminate Adelaide and an army of enthusiastic volunteers. Money raised by the walkers is used to support medical research at SAHMRI. One clinical trial at SAHMRI lead to PBS availability for Asciminib in Australia. Highly effective in achieving deep molecular response in CML, this research proved the vastly improved side effect profile for this drug. Getting access to Asciminib 12 months ago has been a game changer for me. I am looking forward to Bright Walk 2025. #withmyfamilybymyside #letsmakelemonade
