Ole Christiansen began producing wooden toys in 1932. He was based in Billund, Denmark and called his company LEGO – from the phrase leg godt -play well. In 1949, production of plastic toys called Automatic Binding Blocks began and things were never the same. Some fun facts. Space shuttle Endeavour, took LEGO kits into space in 2011, the test their function in microgravity. The company is the world’s biggest producer of rubber tyres. LEGO is currently recognised as the most powerful brand in the world -Ferrari is second. The most bricks used in a single model was 5 million, the tallest was 112 feet and the largest 4 kilometres long. #whatarewebuilding #letsmakelemonade
