Winsor and Newton

“…the very finest watercolour brush…”

Queen Victoria 1866

This company was founded in 1832 by William Winsor and Henry Newton, at 31 Rathbone Place, London. They supplied the local artists quarter, including the studio of John Constable. They are renown for watercolour paint production – the Cotman range for amateurs and the Professional range for, well, professionals. I naturally use the later. The real jewel in their crown is the W&N Kolinsky sable brush, which is the gold standard for artists. A sable is a species of marten, a small carnivorous mammal from the Ural Mountains. #playingwithpaint #letsmakelemonade
