“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings…”
William Blake
So is it an eagle, hawk, kite or falcon? The differences relate to species origin and size. The first three belong to the Accipitridae family, the other is a Falcondae and related to parrots. In birder speak they are all raptors -diurnal predators that hunt during the day. Eagles are the largest of these birds, with falcons generally being the smallest. What we have here is the Black Shouldered Kite, Elanis axillaris. One image is a beauty from my wife, the other is a work in progress from me. Both are incredibly fun to produce and capture. She shoots them and I paint them. A perfect marriage. #couplesthatplaytogether #letsmakelemonade
