At the end of May this year, my father would have turned 93. One my earliest memories is admiring, but sensibly not touching his beloved fountain pen. It was a blue marbled Conway Stewart. Like many family fountain pens I don’t know what happened to it in his later years. A couple of years ago, with a sense of nostalgia, I reached out to Brian Gray at Edison Pens. Could he bring my memory back to life with a bespoke pen design? Via a long trail of emails and digital images this pen emerged. This is an Edison Menlo in Ocean Flake acrylic. The shape and colour are probably incorrect, but to me it is a perfect match to my memory. #recreatingmemories #letsmakelemonade

I have recently almost completed writing the family history of the Svigos family in Australia in preparation for the centenary of this event in 2023 and of course my memory of my father’s penchant for his beloved fountain pen and his copperplate writing was very much with me and reading this post has reawaken this
