French influence

“Some things are worth preserving even without the patina of age…”

Kamu Iyer

Art Deco is a style of visual arts, architecture and design. Deco influenced buildings, fashion, jewelry, cars, movie theatres, trains, ocean liners, radios and vacuum cleaners. It took it’s name from the Exposition internationale des arts decortatifs et industriels moderne, held in Paris in 1925. The Chrysler Building and other skyscrapers of New York City built just prior to the Great Depression, are timeless monuments to this movement. Art Deco survived the Great Depression, but like many things, became much more subdued. The golden era had passed and the austerity of Modernism loomed. #I🫀NY #letsmakelemonade
