Black and Blue

“I will stop wearing black when they invent a darker colour…”

Wednesday Addams

Basic black is seen as a safe choice. Simple, mature and stylish. It was the original colour of cave writing and art. It remains ever popular as a ink for daily use in fountain pens. Above is a happy accident with my Mont Blanc Permanent black ink. These things happen. What can be seen is a little spontaneous chromatography. This ink is not pure black, but contains blue pigment. Most blacks are composed with secondary colours, otherwise they are perceived as flat, dull and boring. So remember to go with black, but feel free to add some extra colour. #addalittleblue #letsmakelemonade
