Melissa and I have been married for almost 30 years. Couples over time often become more like each other. I suspect this might be happening to us. On the right is a tonal exercise using black, from an online bird watercolour painting course. On the left is a photograph of a Brolga, seen recently at Piccaninnie Ponds in the South East. It is almost unknown for these birds to venture so far south. Images like these two have been pretty common on penpaintandscalpel.com. The twist here is that the painting is Melissa’s and I took the photo. #happywifehappyhusbandhappylife #letsmakelemonade
