The Cocktail hour

“Good luck happens to those that are prepared…”

Edmund Gibbon

Sailor is one of the core companies of the Japanese pen industry. In 2011 it decided to produce a series of fountain pens, inspired by popular cocktails. Each year they have released a new model based on a different drink. This initial pen is the most interesting to me for three reasons. It is the only pen of the series based on the 1911 model, the rest are Pro-gears. This is the rarest model, only 200 were ever made. Finally, I can find no record of a cocktail called the Asian Way, the name of this pen. In fact I have been on the hunt for this pen for several years, they usually appear only as part of a full ten pen set. My first major post COVID19 trip was to Brisbane. There I found one. A rare find and a fantastic writer. #brisbanepenshop #letsmakelemonade
