“You only live once, but you get to serve twice…”
If your family likes tennis as much as mine, this is a special weekend. Play your cards and backhand right and you could get your hands on one of these trophies. Daphne Akhurst won 5 Australian singles titles and 9 doubles titles between 1924 and 1931. She is the third most successful Australian singles champion, just behind Margaret Court and Nancye Wynne Bolton. Sadly she died at just 29 years of age, after an ectopic pregnancy. Norman Brookes won three Grand Slam singles titles. Wimbledon in 1907 and 1911 (the first non British individual to do so) and an Australian title in 1911. He was also in successful Davis Cup teams 5 times. After retiring from competitive tennis he served as the president of the LTA for several decades. #nicesilverware #letsmakelemonade
