A railway without trains

“A good pub has much in common with a church…”

William Blake

Few things are as satisfying as an evening in a classic Aussie Pub. There are are many Railway Hotels in the world, this one is in South Melbourne, not far from the F1 track. It has everything that you need (original bar, open fires, 8 ball tables, schnitties, live music)and nothing that you don’t (pokies, TAB, espresso martinis, karaoke). Established in 1856, over the years it has narrowly avoided falling victim to land values and property development. Noted publicans include the controversial RSL president Bruce Ruxton and test cricketer Simon O’Donnell. #showdownnight #letsmakelemonade
