“Wetlands are unsung heroes…”
Annie Prouix
We have had a lot of rain over the last few weeks in South Australia. One welcome consequence is the wash-pool at the back of Sliver Sands has refilled for winter, and I couldn’t be happier. This is a beautiful place at any time of the year, but winter is special, not least because the snakes aren’t active. The reflective water, the lush grasses, and the influx of migratory birds, are all spectacular. Spending time here has been an important part of my life. I have explored the tracks and creeks with my daughters, photographed with my wife, and walked all three of our dogs here. It has become the backdrop to our Christmases, our Easters, and our long weekends. This is where I recovered from leukaemia, and sheltered from COVID. This is what I love to paint. #Paradise #letsmakelemonade
