“An artist can not fail, it is a success just to be one…”
Charles Horton Cooley
One of the best parts of my life in the last few years has been art. There has been the learning of new skills and techniques. This inevitably leads to dives into the fascinating subject of art history, many of which appear in this blog. There is the search for new and potentially perfect art supplies, ready for each and every occasion. It has been said that art supply collecting and the making of art are two independent hobbies, and that has certainly been the case for Melissa and I. The hunt for new locations, new cities, new galleries, new artists, new exhibitions, and of course new art supply shops, can drive specific travel or enhance your exploration and understanding of places you are already visiting. Sometimes it can even give a new slant to places very close to home. For me the most important benefit has been connections and communication around art. This can be your oldest friends, new art buddies, or tellingly strangers you may encounter and without art as a connection would never have interacted with. #notwhatyouknowwhoyouknow #letsmakelemonade
