Delta Pens was or is (it is tricky to know), an important second tier Italian pen company. It sat just a smidge behind Visconti and Montegrappa in terms of brand recognition. Delta was founded in Naples in 1982, and was best known for its marbled black and orange Dolce Vita series. It was also one of the last companies to manufacture thermally unstable celluloid body pens. Delta closed pretty suddenly in 2017, but co-owner Ciro Matrone, with over 50 years in the fountain pen business, still wanted more. In 2018 he and his sons, set up Leonardo Officina Italiana. Leonardo found almost immediate success with a near endless series of bold, swirling, multi-colour pen barrels. Most were too much for me, but this new release seems just right. Fun fact, Delta itself was relaunched in 2022. #anniversarygiftidea #letsmakelemonade
