“We show the world, one drawing at a time”
– the Urban Sketchers motto
Urban sketching is a global community of artists that practice drawing on location, often as part of a travel experience. The community was started on Flickr in 2007 by journalist Gabriel Campanario. Like all good radical movements it has a official manifesto and a registered trademark. The manifesto includes the ideas that any type of art medium may be used, all artists be supported, and all works be published online. Urban Sketchers maintains a large website of artworks, and each year hosts an international symposium. 2020 is in Hong Kong, provided the city hasn’t burnt to the ground. My drawing posted in this blog is not a place I have been, but is part of a training tutorial. I am not safe to be let outside yet. #showtheworld #letsmakelemonade
