So the Icebergs Swimming club at Bondi kicked out the then sitting PM, Malcolm Turnbull. Why? Well, he broke the rules. During the first 5 years of membership every swimmer must swim 3 of 4 Sundays, May through September. A member not complying must explain in writing 14 days prior to their absence. Simply being a busy Prime Minister didn’t cut it. Founded in 1923, Icebergs is a winter swimming club, that is world famous. Their sea pool is acknowledged as the most photographed swimming pool in the world -just check Instagram. Their clubrooms host the Headquarters of Surf-life Saving Australia and an iconic restaurant. One time non local visitors (you and me) can enjoy it all for $8 a swim.
