Criminal Brickwork

“To invent you need a good imagination and a pile of stuff…”

Thomas Edison

I have said it before, I like to LEGO. One of my early blog posts involved a very cool 007 Aston Martin. LEGO is really having a moment of popularity, particularly with ad hoc builds rather than just their highly engineered kits. Check out the many internet sites or even the Channel Nine TV show. Bricks of LEGO are extreme pieces of design and manufacture. They have tolerances of 20 micrometers, a crush strength of 4N, can be disassembled thousand of times without wear and have a quality control rejection rate of just 18 parts per million. But you can’t just play with them. LEGO has developed an increasingly dim view towards the proliferation of illegal building techniques, that ignore established brick design. It is especially concerned about online sites and individuals that promote these travesties. Quite frankly, it really is the thin end of the wedge. Don’t say you weren’t warned. #thedarksideoflego #letsmakelemonade
