The beach in winter

“People don’t notice whether its winter or summer when they are happy…’

Anton Chekov

Don’t get me wrong. I love spending time at the beach all through the year, but there is no escaping that the massive crowds, sometimes seen at Aldinga, are confined to the warmer months. While most people consider the beach a summer activity, there is something pretty magical and energising about a winter day by the sea. We certainly love a summer beach walk, but usually only in the early morning or close to sunset when the heat is tolerable. In winter the middle of the day is perfect with the muted sunlight giving a special set of shades, tones and depth. Even if cold, windy and raining, it can still be wonderful. You just need the right clothes, attitude and company. #beautifulsilversands #letsmakelemonade
