During the recent coronation King Charles III signed an oath pledging to serve the people according to the rule of law. It will surprise no one that the fountain community is beside itself about what pen he used. The TV images are frustratingly unclear. It is thankfully a fountain pen, silver and heavily engraved. Here is my contender. This Coronation Pen was released by Onoto a few weeks ago. It is solid silver and the detailed design includes elements of the coronation garments, portraits of prior Windsor Monarchs and symbols of the Prince of Wales. It is also sufficiently expensive.
